Your Highness: Get Your Quest On

From the trailer, the movie looked promising. The three stars were likeable and I just hoped James Franco could redeem himself after his Academy award hosting bomb. It was an entertaining jaunt through medieval times peppered with contemporary language and jokes ala A Knight’s Tale.

It was a classic tale of one heroic brother who must team up with his not as capable, clownish younger sibling. His fiancée was captured by an evil wizard and so begins their quest. Along the way, they encounter many adventures and memorable characters. The most outstanding one joins their quest, the lovely and talented Natalie Portman. After seeing her as a rail thin neurotic ballerina in Black Swan, it was a nice change of pace to see her as a courageous, feisty heroine. Is it just me or does she look like Keira Knightley at times?

James Franco was serviceable as Fabious, the heroic prince. Justin Theroux was amusing as the evil wizard, Leezar. But Danny McBride stole the show as Thadeous, a more crude and rude Oliver Platt. Extra credit must be given to McBride as he penned the script with his partner, Ben Best. I was also pleasantly surprised by the special effects and the beautiful landscapes they crossed on their journey. If this strikes your fancy, see it in all its glory on the big screen. Since this is not a must see, you can still have a rousing good time in the comfort of your own home. Overall a jolly good show!

Finally, whether you are on your quest to get rid of debt or create a successful blog, remember to attack it from two angles. First of all, be a courageous hero who will never give up. Secondly, as a funny clown who has the ability to laugh it off when things don’t go your way. What is your quest?

A sense of humor goes a long way in everything we do! It helps to diffuse tense situations, it helps in social settings, it helped me land my wife. The combination of a sense of humor and dogged determination can be impossible to beat. Most of the time I think I have that, however occasionally I think I misplace one of them.

The ability to laugh it off when thing don’t go your way – that is something to strive for.

And Keira Knightley does look like Natelie Portman – so you aren’t the only one, Buck! 🙂

I wish I had the ability to laugh it off when I was younger. Took things too seriously. But now, almost everything can and should be smiled or laughed at! Cool, so my eyes aren’t playing tricks on me.

  3. Yes, I have noticed that Keira Knightley looks a lot like Natalie Portman! They should do a movie together as sisters!

Great idea to approach tackling finances!

My quest is to cross over the millionaire mark (at least net worth, and preferable via financial investments) by 2020 (originally I had year 2019, but I decided to add some room for fluff, and besides the year 2020 is so much cooler looking!).

  4. The trailer looks like a lot of fun! Natalie Portman & Zooey are my two favorite actresses too. haha, now I’ll go off and finish thinking about them. 😀
My quest is to retire early, but it’s hard to laugh about such things. I guess I’ll have to keep my funny face on when I run into set back.

Haha funny! Yeah can’t laugh about serious matters like retirement, but can’t cry, get discouraged, or panic. Set backs will happen so put on a happy face, just don’t scare anyone with your triangle face!
