BI 020: What Can You Do?

In the past, setbacks would really throw me for a loop. I would replay the event over and over in my head and pick out all the spots that I could have done differently to alter the outcome. It took me years to finally realize that all this review time wouldn’t change a thing. It just burned me out and was very counterproductive. I was crying over spilt milk when I should have been getting over it.

How do you deal with setbacks? How would you have reacted to the setback featured in the podcast?

    I wouldn’t like the negative event, but I too would take the attitude of sometimes things happen. I tend to let things pass when there’s nothing more that I can do about it. Some people hang on to events from as far back as childhood and never move forward. It’s sad–they mainly hurt themselves and hold themselves back from what they could be.

  2. It really depends on the nature and magnitude of the setback. One good thing that comes with age is you sometimes have a little bit more grace about some of life’s challenges.
