Life Is Expensive, Be Prepared
Life is getting more expensive for me with a new house on the way and an ever growing baby boy. Take a look below at how else life is expensive.
Did you go through a similar path and how did you deal with it?

Buck
Great info graphic Buck! Having kids and owning a home really does start to add up quickly. I wish I would’ve gotten $15/week as a kid. 🙂
Thanks John! Feeling a little extra pressure with the added expenses, but we’ll be fine.
That is an awesome infographic. I don’t like the $900k for raising a child until 22. My son is just 3 weeks old and I am already scared of how much it is going to cost. I love infographics like this.
Frightening stats, but better to be aware. Congrats on the new little one!
Cool, I like a good infographic.
Thanks Hunter will try and track down some more for ya!
This is one of those “if I only knew then” things. In 1966 my parents paid $21,000 very large nice brick house on an enormous lot in an excellent neighborhood in Tennessee. Twenty years later I paid the same amount for a new Chevy full size luxury van. Now who knows where the van is and how much it would be worth now ($200 at most maybe?). My mother still lives in the house and it’s valued for over $250,000.
I wish I had started investing in real estate after I got out of high school.

Tossing It Out
Nice pickup by your folks Lee! Huge lesson about assets vs depreciating assets!
It is a matter of choices! I spent a lot of money on private education and college for my children, but I have no regrets. They probably will not get any inheritance, but they are doing well because my choices.
Sounds like everyone wins KC!
Wow! I thought things were tough now. This is so true. Learning this every day with a 12 yr old, 9 yr old, 2 yr old, and 9 month old!
Wow that’s a full house! Don’t know how you do it. Good Luck!
Wow the cost of raising a child is outrageous!
It is pretty insane. Should tie these figures with birth control, haha.
Wow, $900k to raise a kid until you can kick them off to college? That’s crazy! I’ve gotta setup some sort of fund or something because my fiance wants two and saving $1.8 mil in 22 years sounds like a great goal but if I pull it off I’ll have nothing left to retire with!
Haha, I don’t know what I was thinking when I had Baby Buck! Just kidding. Not to get too sappy on ya, but when your future boy or girl smiles at you and wants you to pick them up to hug, PRICELESS.
