  1. Jamaica scares me. I’ve heard good and bad stories about this destination, and decided that it won’t be on my bucket list for a long time. 🙂

Sorry to hear Aloysa. I may need to get the Director of Tourism to look into this perception problem. Thanks!

I suggest to contact your friends in Jamaica so that they will be the one to show you! I also suggest to research travel sites online about the best destinations ,hotels and restaurants in Jamaica to avoid problems.

      Hi Aloysa,

I am the Business Development Manager – Western USA for Jamaica Tourist Board. I am the person Buck Inspire met at the Los Angeles Travel Adventure Show. Thanks Buck for your kind words.

What a misconception!! Listen to the people who are telling you the good things. Jamaica is such a beautiful island…its scenery, its people and culture are like nowhere in this world!! I promise you that if you go, you’ll have the time of your life and would want to go back again and again.

  2. Jamaica Mon! I would like to visit, however I would like to travel to almost every location.

My wife and I visited a Jamaican restaurant near the beach and really enjoyed the food. The owner was from Jamaica and spent some time with us. She was warm and friendly. If I were traveling in the Caribbean, I would probably include it.

I have a friend who’s Jamaican and lives in Costa Rica. Nicest, warmest, friendliest guy I know. Wonderful people and should be a wonderful place to visit. One day…

Sounds like it was a great show. I wouldn’t mind visiting Jamaica one day.
It’s tough keeping up energy and a smile when you man a booth all day at one of those shows.

It was! I have a better appreciation for people manning their booth. The ones who can maintain their energy and enthusiasm will be more successful and memorable than others who fall short.

  5. I went to Jamaica for a friends wedding recently. We had a very good time at the wedding and learned a lot about the culture too. Here’s my write up:

  6. I’ve been to Jamaica on a cruise ship stop and really enjoyed the day there. It is beautiful and the people are great!

  7. Deane07 says:

Looking forward also to be there and experience greatly how beautiful “Jamaica” is.

  8. Aww. Thanks so much for the mention Buck. I am surprised!

I always make sure to take copies of passports etc when I travel. I also register with the embassy so they can keep track of me.

  9. Tana says:

Jamaica has generally beautiful weather across the board. It does have a rainier season from May-June and September to October and the typical Atlantic hurricane season runs from August to September. The months from December to April are usually the most beautiful, but also are the busiest tourist season and the most expensive time to go. Summer rates typically drop from 20%-50% so it may be best to keep that in mind when planning a Jamaican trip.
