Great infographic, Buck. I haven’t heard of that app before. Looks like it’s worth checking out.
Thanks Marissa! Better safe than sorry right?
The main thing this points out is that the average American consumer is lazy. People need to go over every charge on every credit card every month. If you do not recognize a charge, you need to investigate. If after investigation, you think it is a bogus charge, contact your credit card issuer. You may be a victim of identity theft. If you do recognize a grey charge from a “free trial” sign up, you need to contact the company and tell them to cancel. You should never have signed up for something that required a credit card # in the first place, unless you are making a purchase that you understand. Be very careful when signing up for anything that will become a recurring charge. Make sure you read all the fine print and know how to cancel the charge.
Excellent advice Bryce! You are so right. Most people are lazy, but that laziness can really damage your wallet. Wake up people!
It is one of the reasons, you should always review your statements. I think the credit cards companies prey on people who do not check their statements.
Sad that companies would prey on people, but we do have a choice to be diligent with our bills. Just a friendly reminder to Joe and Jane Public!
