Club MomMe Fall Family Fest 2014 Recap
Over the weekend, it was a warm, beautiful day at the South Coast Botanic Garden. It would be the perfect backdrop for the second annual Club MomMe Fall Family Fest. Rachel Pitzel, Founder of ClubMomMe, did it again as the event was sold out and packed with moms, dads, and little ones. The parking lot was already full when we got there, but we lucked out as another attendee left early.
Mendocino Farms “broke my mouth” with their wonderfully delicious Steak BLT finger sandwiches. The bread was so soft and fresh. Their combination of carved steak, applewood bacon, romaine lettuce, roasted tomatoes, herb aioli, red wine onions on toasted rustic white made music in my mouth. I almost forgot to breathe. For more information, visit Mendocino Farms.
Right after lunch, my son was hooked on the many different water contraptions provided by Pump and Splash. Little boys and girls were mesmerized by the many rubber duckies, water pumps, and cranks. I was surprised I could even visit other booths as my son had a hard time leaving. If you are looking to keep your little one and their friends entertained at their next birthday party, Pump and Splash will do the trick. For more information, visit Pump and Splash.
SoCal Moms, who provides toddler camps throughout Southern California, also was able to hypnotize my son. With their kiddie pool filled with bubble solution, my son played with their wide assortment of colorful bubble makers. Kids sure have a thing for water. For more information, visit SoCal Moms.
After all that playing, we cooled off with some thirst quenching, healthy juices from Pressed Juicery. My son loved their signature vanilla almond mix made up of almonds, dates, vanilla bean, sea salt, and filtered water. Since I love my fruits, I couldn’t get enough of their apple, strawberry, coconut mix. For more information, visit Pressed Juicery.
I also got a science lesson refresher on water acidity and pH balance from Seattle-based Essentia. Their BPA free, recyclable, PET #1 bottle hit the spot in the hot afternoon sun and balanced my body with an electrolyte-enhanced water with an alkaline 9.5 pH. For more information, visit Essentia.
We then spent some time at the little tikes driving obstacle course. My son hasn’t gotten the hang of pushing himself with his feet so I got in my exercise. I also had to take a moment to enjoy the wonderful views. For more information, visit little tikes.
Urban Sitter, who is slowly becoming the Uber of nannies, provided face painting, slides, and other toddler toys. It’s nice I can drop my son off at grandma’s, but if I run into a crunch, it’s a relief that I have additional options. For more information, visit urbansitter.
Right next door I sat in on a celebrity mom panel where they shared their inspiring, very personal stories of motherhood. The Finding Balance As A Mom panel featured Tamera Mowry-Housley, Jamie Lynne Grumet (I Am Not the Babysitter), Erin Condren, Denai Jones (Petunia Pickle Bottom), Leah Garrad-Cole (Love Child Organics), and Samantha Ettus (Working Moms Lifestyle). It was highlighted by running into moderator Lisa Ling (This Is Life) who was gracious enough to take a selfie with me.
Melissa from Berlin Wellness Group gave me a much needed, tension releasing massage. She was also very delightful playing with my son as he tried to get my attention with his inflatable ball. For more information, visit Berlin Wellness Group.

Since I work in IT and am trying to be more effective using my iPhone 6, I couldn’t help but gravitate to Totokan. This newest, most innovative baby monitor wirelessly links up to your smartphone or tablet. Besides monitoring your little one, you can talk back to them and get motion or crying alerts sent to you. With no cables, it is very portable. It is even water proof and the $200 price tag is comparable to traditional baby monitors. For more information, visit Totokan.
At the end of the day, even though it was getting pretty dark, the venue was still packed as Club MomMe gave away tons of amazing baby products. After five months of hard work, Rachel and her team pulled off another amazing event. Can’t wait to see what she has planned next!
