2012 PLUSH Event
If you have been following along, I’ve been hitting a ton of baby events because of Baby Buck, who is now a little over 2 months old. The cool thing about these shows is tons of vendors showcasing the latest and greatest baby products while also learning techniques for handling a new bundle of joy. Let’s break it down.
Viva La Venue
I’ve seen the pictures and video, but being at Vibiana in person was a treat. This historic church with high cathedral ceilings is the perfect setting for weddings, meetings, and wait for it, baby shows.
Jessica Alba from the Honest Company showed up as the title sponsor. Is this a baby show or a movie premiere?!?! There was a red carpet, a photo op area and a flock of paparazzi yelling and screaming at Jessica as if she were a zoo animal. I shouldn’t criticize as mob mentality got the best of me as I whipped out my cell phone for a few snapshots. However cat calls aren’t me. Speaking of animals, we were also entertained by Catt Sadler of E! News and John “Spider” Salley. Clever eh?
Dr. Harvey Karp was the keynote speaker and he dazzled us with his charm and baby knowledge. I even added one of his patented “S” moves to calm Baby Buck quicker and more efficiently. At first I thought he was just another pediatrician, but this guy knows what he’s talking about.
Hydrated and Nourished
It was a beautiful, summer day and we staved off dehydration with plenty of thirst quenching fluids. O.N.E. Coconut Water and resource natural spring water hit the spot, but the king of the hill was cuties juice. I’m a fan of their easy to peel tangerines so its no surprise that I also enjoyed their juice. Taste great and good for you? Can’t ask for anything more. My stomach was delighted by Tiato. Their famous garlic noodles and curry chicken puff pastries were to die for. To top me off, the good folks at Snow Monkey cooled me off with their chocolate and mango shaved snow.
Ok, I know what you’re thinking. Buck, you went to a baby show and didn’t even mention one baby product. Now that I am a father, I’ll let you guess at the one thing I needed to learn quick. PATIENCE. Since there were so many amazing products and vendors, I’m reviewing my notes as we speak. Can anyone say upcoming mini-series? Kudos to Jina Park and her incredible staff for delicately blending luxurious Beverly Hills, glitzy Hollywood, and babies!
