One Is The Magic Number PSY! Gangnam Style!

I am late to the game to chime in on PSY’s worldwide smash, Gangnam Style. However, he is still making headlines even on Election 2012. A reporter asked President Obama what he thought about Gangnam Style. Can anyone say viral?

Initially you would think that PSY is an overnight sensation. On the contrary, he’s been in the game for nine years. His persistence sure paid off. His mega hit Gangnam Style shows persistence and hard work does pay off. But what does this have to do with us? Plenty.

What if PSY decided not to be an entertainer? What if he decided not to record his songs? What if he decided not to get that agent? What if he decided not to pursue music? The bottom line is you have to take action. The good news is, you can’t lose.

Traditionally speaking, let’s take a look at your first job, your first date, your first anything for that matter. We probably weren’t at our best, green and awkward. On top of that, most of us won’t become a global sensation, but we gain valuable experiences, skills, and confidence that will shape us into the future. My current job and relationship is a culmination of my previous jobs and relationships, but it all can be traced back to the first. None of this would exist, without that first move. Hence, the magic number is one.

Final Thoughts

Most of you are content creators like me. I don’t know about you, but there are days when I wonder, “What is all this for?” That’s when I have to remind myself how much I enjoy writing, sharing ideas, and expressing myself. Like a job or a relationship, you too gain skills, experience, and confidence when you produce quality content. Who knows, one day, you may have your own Gangnam Style on your hands like PSY. So give your computer a break, get off your chair, keep creating your content or your next big invention, and get on your horse Sexy Lady!

Are you working on your Gangnam Style? How do you plan to get there?

Stay Inspired!

Inspirational post! I also love the process of creating content, and it’s funny….one success or failure leads to the next opportunity. I think you said something that echos a thought I love from Tony Robbins. Success is about making more decisions….produce faster so that you set up the next win.

By now I should be an expert, but I am always working on refining, adapting and changing to meet my expectations. It is never good enough!

I may be retired, but I’m still dreaming. This old guy may not quite be dreaming in Gangnam style and perhaps in a musical genre more to my appreciation, but I’m still dreaming and working at it. As usual things will probably fall into place somehow. I’ve had a pretty serendipitous life.

Don’t feel so bad, I also saw it the other day for the first time. In fact, I saw CollegeHumor’s Romney parody before the original.
