Ikea Members Eat Free

Ikea Food

I’ve been shopping around for more storage space because my son’s toy collection keeps growing. We were eyeing some shelves and baskets from Ikea. Over the weekend, we learned that Ikea members could eat free. On December 13th and 14th, members who ate in the Ikea restaurant could take their receipt and get that total deducted from furnishing purchases of $100 or more.

Ikea Salmon Filet

My family feasted on BBQ ribs, salmon filet, and their world famous Swedish meatballs. The cashier gave us a coupon with our dinner total. During furniture checkout, as promised, the dinner bill was slashed off our shelves and baskets total. I exclaimed to the cashier, “What a deal, does this happen all the time?” The cashier agreed, “Yeah, if you are eating dinner here may as well take it off! I think it happens every month, especially around holidays.” Next year, we need to shop at Ikea more often. For those of you who are going to make a bigger purchase from Ikea, check member benefits to see if you can eat for free, too!

I had no idea that IKEA offered memberships. Then again it’s been years since I’ve been to an IKEA. Sounds like a great deal though.
